Say nothing else.

Say nothing else.

Dromedaries cross a thousand dunes carrying my beating heart to the oasis of your mouth Your lips shelter me The wind rages, I hear drums and tinkling cymbals. Your tongue is a masseur in the oasis of your mouth. Northern star, northern lights, shooting stars I shelter. Tell me you love me loud, scream…

HOMAGE.

HOMAGE.

Like trees We must shed our leaves It’s the law Of nature, that we shed like trees Then reboot Like new stars-  Unlike the trees, We forget our past existence when we step out new, with new ideas, And think we can make changes to anything, Not gender, heaven or earth, not the seasons- And when we try to hold on to our leaves, we fail. Monstrosities form Flitting helter-skelter in the shadow of madness, confused…we must die. Withered, helpless…

SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DAYS.

SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DAYS.

SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DAYS LATER. It was the year 2001.  Three weeks before my birthday you tried to murder me. Very early in the day, the sun was still greeting the blue skies and the billowy white clouds fluffing about.  The heavens kissed and caressed in fanciful gestures. They touched and sighed. On my descent into La Guardia, I noticed the Twin Towers punctuating the skyline and nodded approvingly. New York, my hometown and…

THREE SHORT SHORT, SHORT STORIES.

THREE SHORT SHORT, SHORT STORIES.

THE DOG. It cost too much to buy the puppy, but I really wanted a little dog. Hattie said that she would give me half of the five hundred dollars and I would not have to repay her. I wondered if there was a catch. Sure there was. I found out at breakfast. She’d help me pay for the dog as long as I agreed to name it Myron. Myron was her long dead son. Myron died during the Second…

THE SON.

THE SON.

In 1949 my parents had a premature baby boy. Born early at twenty- eight weeks and weighing two pounds seven ounces, he should have been transported to the hospital and placed in an incubator. Falmouth was a remote sea coast town without many modern amenities.  There was a local hospital, electricity and piped running water, visiting doctors from the big City of Kingston on a rotating basis, and one principal doctor who was in charge of running the hospital in…
